Prayer Chain

"For it is God who is at work in you, inspiring both the will and the deed for His own chosen purpose." Philippians 2.13

God calls us to talk with him, to be in conversation with him. Prayer is how we do that. When we go to God in prayer, God always hears us. Yet, many times we need the support of others to pray with us and for us, to help us find our way, to beseech God for healing, or to bring comfort to those who are mourning. There are as many reasons for prayer as there are people who have needs.

Recognizing this need for community prayer, Christ Church prays for many people through our prayer chain. Requests come into the church through cards filled out in worship on Sunday morning, or through phone calls, or through requests made in person, or through requests in an email. With the permission of the person requesting prayer, the request is then sent out to the members of the prayer chain by a pastor and the prayers are lifted up by each person who receives it.

If you have a prayer request, you may send it electronically to or call her at the office 919-969-8820 or simply fill out a prayer request card that may be found between the hymnals in the pews in the sanctuary. The card may be dropped in the offering plate or just handed to a pastor at the end of worship. Be sure and indicate whether your request is for the pastors only or for the prayer chain as well.

New Community Prayer Ministry

Would you like to pray with others in our church and the community?  Do you want someone to pray with you?  This fall, Christ Church will begin a new prayer ministry to be held Monday through Thursday from 10-11:30 am in the sanctuary.  During these times, we will be deliberate about extending an invitation to the people of our community to stop in for a time of prayer.  Church members will be on  hand for individuals who would like someone to pray with them.
