Benevolence - Chapel Hill, Carrboro and surrounding communities in Orange and Chatham counties are blessed with many good gifts of education and employment opportunities. Yet, there are many people right here in our home communities who suffer terribly from the effects of poverty.  There are entire families who go to bed hungry every night because there is not enough money left over to buy food.  There are moms who have jobs and want to be at work every day, but they can't because they have no money for gas or because the busses don't run at times that can get them to work early enough.  Sometimes families run out of money because the parent has fallen ill and can't get back to work soon enough to pay the  bills that so rapidly pile up.

From a place of compassion, Christ Church provides assistance to families in need by providing food cards to area grocery stores and financial assistance with utility and rent bills. The funds for this ministry come from grocery gift cards donated by people from our Christ Church family and from monetary gifts designated for the Pastor's discretionary fund. Families who receive this assistance call the church office with their needs. A pastor interviews them, assesses their needs, prays with them, and then assists them as the funds and situation of the person in need allow.

If you would like to participate in this ministry by your gifts of monetary assistance or through the gift of your time please contact Pastor Christi Dye.

Blankets for Children- Blanket Bees for all ages are held at the church to makecolorful, no-sew fleece blankets for those in need.  No experience needed.  Contact Debbie Cusick ().
