Choirs and Traditional Music at Christ Church
Chancel Choir
As Music Director and Organist at Christ Church, I extend an invitation for you to be a member of the Chancel Choir. We rehearse Wednesdays at 6:45pm, and childcare is available. We perform large works with orchestra on Palm Sunday and on Cantata Sunday in mid-December. By following Jesus Christ, we have grown from a mere dozen singers to over 30.
Please see below for other musical opportunities at Christ Church.

Handbells and Tone Chimes
The Belltones Handbell Ringers ring out the Good News at Christ Church, rehearsing on Wednesdays at 6:10 pm. Fifth-graders through adults are welcome to join us. Childcare is provided. Plans to expand the 3 octaves of Malmark handbells and 2 octaves of Suzuki tone chimes are taking shape in 2010 and beyond. This will better equip our talented group for a wider range of ministry, both in the worship setting and in concerts at Christ Church and in the greater Chapel Hill/Carrboro community.
Children's Choir
This group rehearses each Wednesday afternoon in the Music Room, September through May, meeting at 3:00pm for a snack, and then rehearsing from 3:15-4:15pm. Children learn worship and music fundamentals, hymnology and anthems, rhythm and note-reading, and how to ring chimes. They sing and ring in worship several times throughout the year and at area nursing homes as part of sharing their music ministry with the community. Registration forms are available in Ascension Hall, or you may click here to register online.
Summer Opportunity for Children: Kids, you won't want to miss C-CAMP (Christ Community Acting and Music Program) which is held in June. Watch for more information this spring.
